With the guidance of curriculum reformation for high school, many schools have offered school-based curricula, and school-based curriculum development has been an important content of the curriculum reformation. Curriculum design is a crucial part of the school-based curriculum development. Many researchers focus on the theory and idea of curriculum design.The present paper focuses on the problems of theory and practice for the chemistry-popularization course design. These problems are how to establish this course, how to choose the contents of this course, how to apply this course effectively and how to assess this course and so on. The present paper obtains the contents, principles and strategies of chemistry-popularization course design by demonstration. And attempts to provide experience for this course design.The present paper constitutes by three parts:The first part, the paper expounds the research background, the research content and the research methods at first, then explains the core concepts and summarizes the current situation of school-based curriculum design in some foreign developed countries, HK and Taiwan.
