Research On Psychological Stress & Adaptation Of Middle School Teachers

With the development of the reform of foundational education, more and more attention is paid to psychological stress and adaptation of middle school teachers. This paper deals with the topic on the base of making an overall summary of the status quo of the research on the theory and methods about teachers' psychological compressive stress and adaptation both at home and abroad, and makes a questionnaire about psychological stress of middle school teachers. The questionnaire was handed round 1267 teachers who are in 14 middle schools of Jiangsu Province. 1213 valid questionnaires were returned. The data were analyzed by statistic analysis software SPSS. The conclusions of this paper include three parts: (a) the analysis of the status quo about psychological stress of middle school teachers. It is found in this paper that the psychological stress of teachers make direct proportion obviously with the factors of family, mental character, work feature and society, (b) the analysis of the sources of the psychological stress of teachers. The sources include expectation of the role of teacher, the management of the students, habitation of the school, job evaluation, relationship of society, the reform of system of education and new challenge from the reform of curriculum. All the factors of the psychological stress of teachers and the differences with each other were analyzed from the points of the view of sociology, economics, psychology and education, (c) the research on the strategy of adaptation of the psychological stress of teachers. It is considered in this paper that the adaptation of the psychological stress of teachers needs not only the control of the sources which caused these stress by the managers in school, but also the self-adaptation of the teachers and improving their ability. Many effective strategy of adaptation of the psychological stress of teachers were also provided in this paper.
