The Survey And Reflection On The Situation Of The Senior High School Students' Mathematics Application Consciousness In Shilin County

With the development of modern science and technology as well as the advance of society, mathematics is widely applied in life day by day. However, the situation that many people do not know where and how is mathematics applied is pessimistic. This situation is much due to the neglecting of mathematics application consciousness in high school. Because of the hard-to-measure of the mathematics application consciousness, people know little about it.This paper made some surveys of senior high school students' mathematics application consciousness situation in Shilin County and made reflections on results of the surveys. This paper is divided into three parts. In the first part, the author made a literature review on the concepts concerned mathematics application consciousness. In this part, the author also discriminated several concepts, such as mathematics application ability, mathematics knowledge and consciousness of mathematics application. The second part is mainly focus on the surveys of senior high school students' mathematics application consciousness and ability situation. Mathematics teachers in high schools also accepted the surveys. In the third part, based on the analysis of results of the surveys, the author made a reflection on how to cultivate high school students' mathematics consciousness in mathematics teaching.
