With the development of modern science and techno1ogy as we11 as the advance of society,mathematics is wide1y app1ied in 1ife day by day. In the field of education, It has been agreed that we should pay more attention to forming the mathematics aplication consciousness.This paper made some surveys of secondary vocational school students'mathematics app1ication consciousness situation in Wuxi Teachers'College and made reflections on results of the surveys.This paper is divided into five parts.In the first part is to illustrate the importance of forming mathematical apply. The second part is to deal with the comprehensive analyses on the mathematical application , the consciousness of mathematics application, etc. The third part is to put up with the base of research. In the fourth part ,we investigated the teaching affairs and pointed out the problems existed currently in the mathematic teaching. The problems were that the teaching contents were obsolete,teaching methods were comparatively simple. The teacher didn't pay enough attention to cultivating the students'poor awarness must be included. Secondly we also poined out the reasons which influenced the devolopment of mathematics application consciousness,and which contains curriculum system,contents and aspects.Lastly , we proposed the strategies and measures of cultivating the students'mathematics application consciousness. We elaborated it from several aspetcs,such as. The constrution of mathematics system with secondary vocation characteristics. The design of course aims,the teaching characteristics of mathematic contents. The methods of cultivating students mathematic app1ication consciousness and organizing "mathematics modeling" in teaching activities The point of this paper: the secondary vocational school students'consciousness of mathematics application is weak and their abi1ity to apply mathematics in life is far from satisfaction.This situation is due to severa1 factors,such as learning materials,teachers,society and examinations.All in all,not the school a1one but many other factors should join in the cultivation of students'consciousness of mathematics application.
