The China-ASEAN Free Trade Area (CAFTA) enjoys a great growth potential in its economic aggregate. Since the financial crisis in Southeast Asia in 1997, the member states of ASEAN and China have had closer contact with each other, witnessing the ever-growing economic and trade exchange. Recently, both sides have signed economic and trade agreements to gradually reduce the tariff, as a result of which, both the investment and imports and exports show a good development trend. Guangxi is located in the front for China's connection with ASEAN, and the annual China-ASEAN Expo (CAEXPO) held in Nanning since 2004 also provides Guangxi with good opportunity for its economic development. Viewed from the actual situation, however, Guangxi finds itself a long way from the economic demand because of the current weak foundation of talents, which affects adversely the promotion and expansion of the economic and trade relationship between Guangxi and ASEAN and the convening of CAEXPO.By making comparison between Guangxi and Yunan Province in their respective talent nurturing system for CAFTA and listing the similarities and differences, the paper makes analysis with reference to the figures obtained, the current situation in Guangxi and economic laws, thus affirms the method of "inviting in and going global" and the talent nurturing mode of establishing the talent bases to cover certain areas. In the end, after constructing initially the CAFTA-oriented talent nurturing system mode suitable for Guangxi and proposing a few basic principles for constructing the system, the paper makes the pre-analysis for the operation of the system and works on the counter measures for the difficulties during the operation.
