A Study On The Use Of Task-based Approach In Senior Middle School

The nation wide curriculum reform emphasizes the use of language, the traditional teaching approach can not meet the requirement of the new English Curriculum Standard, issued by the Ministry. The new English Curriculum Standard stresses the points below: curriculums proceed from the interest, the experience, the cognitive development standard of students, proposing using the learning methods and teaching approach based on participating, cooperating and communicating to develop the students' ability of using language, turning the learning process into one that students form the active emotion, think actively, practice bravely, arouse the awareness of cross-culture and form the ability of self-control learning.Out of our country, TBLT has been studying and using for over 20 years, while in our country, we just begin to do some research on the theories and application. This thesis is devoted to discussing the application of task-based approach in Senior Middle School.The author used such methods as observing, visiting, surveying, searching for documents to do some research on the application of task-based approach in Senior Middle Schools. This thesis expounds the background of the thesis and the problem exited in teaching, alsodiscusses the theories of Task-based Approach. In Chapter One, the author talks about the situation of research on Task-based Approach. In Chapter Two, the author analyzes the theories of psychology and linguistics that Task-based Approach based on. In Chapter Three, the author provides the procedures of using Task-based approach, according to the real need of teaching, in the last Chapter, the author discusses the practice application of Task-based approach in Senior Middle School.
