With the development of the science and teconology in the 21 century, learning has become a need for life. At present, the new curriculum reform emphasizes the change of learning fashion. The main goal of the new curriculum reform is the implementing education for all - round development. Thus, the new curriculum reform sparkpluging autonomic learning. It's important to advocate the development the students'main body learning style, to make the students' become the host of learning, to develop the students'main-body awareness, subjective initiative and creative thinking, to develop the creativity and practice ability. I believe it is a good way to follow up the self-determination learning to realize the goal. So I carry out the research and practice of cultivation of self-determination ability in the senior high school geography class instruction to cultivate the students' need of future need.In this essay I want to explore the students' self-determination abilityin the senior high school geography class instruction, to carry out the basic strategies of self-determination ability, to implement the model of "learning book leads to learnig, leading promotes the learning-cooperative learning, group discussion-teachers' brief instruction, teacher's and students' induction-exercise consolidation, self-assesment " to cultivate the students' self-determination learning ability.Besides, in the research of the self-determination ability cultivation and in the basis of the class instruction result analysis, I compare the experimenting class and the comparing class according to the learning achievement, learning interests, learning motivation, learning habits and learning methods. The experimenting class exceeds the comparing class in these aspects. The research result tells us that it can develop the student's self-determination learning ability and learning achievement to cultivate the self-determination ability in the senior high school geography class. It is also useful to develop the students' self-determination learning ability for life to realize the sustainable development.
