Our society has been modern times, in which knowledge and information is increasing at full speed. The demand for education and training of our society is much higher. In recent years, self-regulated learning has been changing into the mode of active education in which teachers are the predominants. How to build up appropriate teaching methods on the basis of new teaching ideas is a practical problem that badly needs to be solved in the present reform.Based on the present situation and the new reformed teaching ideas, this essay explores the method of learning from experience in the middle-school geography teaching .Firstly,the essay inquires into the meaning and characteristic of self-regulated learning and self-regulated learning ability; after having summarized and analysed the course reform situation in both our country and abroad, the essay goes on to illustrate the present state and existent problems in our geography teaching . Secondly , according to the modern learning theories , the essay elaborates the build-up self-learning abilities, the scenario to stir up to study ,coming up with questions by medium, and the evaluation of the result of self-exploring. Lastly , the essay puts forward the solutions towards the problems that teachers may meet and should pay attention to in the development of the students' abilities to self-study.
