Innovating education is the trend of education development. Training the pupils' innovating consciousness is one of the components of innovating education, which is very important to the teachers. Math teaching in primary school, which has obvious advantages, is a very essential method to train pupils' innovating consciousness.Innovating consciousness is a kind of psychological tendency, by which students can make full use of their latent energy to discover and solve problems actively. It is a kind of consciousness of seeking new things, chasing differences and pursuing changes. Besides, it is the starting point and internal power of innovating activities and the base of innovating quality. Innovating consciousness contains three kinds of essential factors. One is innovating quality, such as curiosity, desire of seeking knowledge, ability of suspicion and criticizing spirit. Another is innovating thought, emphasizing thinking independently. The third is innovating way.Directed by the theory of innovating education and educational psychology,the paper analyzes the status of training the pupils' innovating consciousness in math teaching on the basis of widespread investigation,and especially of the authour's long working experience.Meanwhile the ahuthor points out the strong points and weak points ,in which students need to widen their knowledge ,improve the initiative of studying and strengthen the consciousness of question ,critique and pragmatism. The main reasons for the weak points are teachers' teaching views about profitsm, pragmatism, simplification and unitary.According to the above reasons ,the paper proposes four countermeasures for training the pupil's innovating consciousness in math teaching at primary school which are given to the teachers. They are: the first one is to improve the techers' business performance,which is composed of strengthening the spirit of loving teaching ,renewing the teaching ideas ,bettering the structure of knowledge ,and developing innovating quality,the second one is to make the teaching aims of each grade clear, the third is to master the teaching principles including humanism ,dialecticism and "mathematization" .the fourth is to make good use of teaching tactics that consist of creating good studying environment ,emphasizing the thinking training ,and cultivating...
