This paper mainly illustrates the function of the classical poetry in Chinese teaching as well as discusses its influence on teaching system of writings in middle school Its function embodies in the following aspects: First, image appreciation for the classical poetry is an effective way to consummate students' emotive system. Second, understanding the text in classical poetry is an important method to improve the students' thinking system. Last but not least, the rich culture reserve in classical poetry is the special carrier to promote students' feeling system.Its influence is seen as follows: By means of serializing the image, visualizing and poeticizing students' observation and experience, this will help the students improve the ability to experience things and poeticize the language. To appreciate and contrast these poems will be likely to develop students' imaginative ability. And then analyzing and commenting on the poems may be helpful for fostering students' detached thought. In pursuit of developing students' creative thinking in the process of considering a question freely, the teacher must analyze and explain the poems carefully. In doing so, the abilities of the students to solve the problem and organize the passage are likely to be improved accordingly. Enjoying the classical poems is to develop morality of the students, distinguishing them is about to enhance students' reason and wisdom, and appreciating them is to improve students' aesthetic feelings. All these will probably improve the students' ability to recall feelings and sublimate the topic.
