| Teachers usually neglect the training of listening and speaking abilities in English teaching for senior high school students in class.The teaching method is limited to the traditional Grammar Translation. So the students can't speak English well. It is becoming more and more serious because they are afraid of making mistakes. Even the students who are good at written English dare not communicate with others in English. Therefore they can't practice their ability of using English. In this situation, I do some research on the controllable factors affecting the ability of spoken English. What's more, I do experiments in the experimental class to make comparisons with the comparative class in order to draw some conclusions on the controllable factors affecting the ability of spoken English. Finally, I conclude how to improve the spoken English of the students in classroom teaching while there are a large number of students in the class; I explore the proper new method suitable for the teaching of Spoken English for Senior High Students. The purpose of doing this is to provide reference to the English teachers in Senior High School. Thus we can teach the students Spoken English more effectively. This thesis is divided into six chapters.The first chapter introduces the research background of the thesis, the purpose and the significance of the research. First I give a questionnaire to all the students of Grade One in our school to collect some information on the controllable factors affecting the ability of Spoken English for Senior High students. I think we can improve the ability of spoken English for Senior High students by using cooperative learning and intercommunicating method and all kinds of resources.The second chapter gives a brief introduction of the theory on Spoken English teaching of Senior High students. It can help teachers understand theoretical framework and the general description of the study on the teaching of foreign spoken language at home and abroad.The third chapter is the base of theory of my research. It is about some theories concerning my research.The forth chapter is the design and implementation of my research.
