The importance of Algorithm in mathematics is drawing people's more attention and as a result, a lot of nations in the world have put it as one of the required contents in the high school mathematics. In our country 《 the mathematical curriculum standard( experiment) of the common senior high school 》 (2003) also points out: "Algorithm is an important part of mathematics and its application, as well as the computational science. The idea of Algorithm has already become a basic mathematical quality for modern citizens." In the terms of the above, we can know Algorithm is listed as required contents, and furthermore, it also be required to be highlighted throughout the whole process of the mathematics study in senior high school,With the continuous implement of the new curriculum, the problem of "teaching and learning" of Algorithm has been drawing people's attention. Because Algorithm is comparatively unfamiliar to the mathematics teacher of middle schools, and there is also no relative ready-made experience from which we can learn, we meet all-directions challenges in our teaching. This study, which has a foothold of teaching practice of Algorithm, is mainly concerned about the following problems:What factors are interfering with students in their process of learning? How does Algorithm teaching perform currently? What factors are affecting the impact of Algorithm teaching?The main study methods are questionnaire and interviews.In the process of studying, based on combing the Algorithm concept, the study annotates the Algorithm concept using the knowledge classification theory, and points out the value of the education of Algorithm firstly. Then the study analyzes the performances of the students in different stages in the learning of Algorithm through questionnaire and interviews, and tries to find out the factors that affect the effect of student's study. And then, according to the Algorithm teaching anxiety of teachers and the existence condition of Algorithm teaching, this study analyses the background reason of the above two problems. Finally, it gives some suggestions on the learning teaching of Algorithm.The main standpoints of the study are as follows:I. "Algorithm" is a kind of procedural knowledge, and it can be seen as the procedural knowledge of the general domain, as well as of the particularity domain; it has the controllable character, and meanwhile, it is also characteristic of" automation"( namely" maneuverability"). Understanding the basic natures of" Algorithm" will help us a lot in further studying of " Algorithm learning" and" Algorithm teaching".II. The factors that affect the students' learning effect are various, and these factors have differences in different stages. The students' learning motive, the learning idea and the learning attitude affect the whole process of Algorithm learning. The students' meta-cognition ability, cognition strategy, experience of Algorithm designing, their computer level and mathematics quality have a direct influence on the Algorithm problem resolving.
