With the approach of knowledge-economy time, the demand of talent in society changes from knowledge talent to capable talent. Obviously, this change raises higher standard demand on education, especially basic education. Many problems exist in our education for a long time, such as the low creativity of students, the low ability of practice, the passive study pattern and inactive emotional experience and so on. All these problems obstruct the development of our society. As workers of basic education, we should face and study how to improve our ways of teaching, how to raise the quality of teaching and how to educate our students to meet the demand of this knowledge-economy society.Since 1980s, the teaching pattern "Problem-solving" has been playing an important role in science teaching abroad. Its purpose is to develop the characteristic of the students fully and teach them how to solve problems and develop their creativity so as to develop their knowledge and ability. With this purpose, a new teaching pattern "Problem-study" comes out. This teaching problem absorbs the spirit of nowadays education and study approaches. Problems are the core of this teaching pattern. And it aims to develop the ability and intelligence through leading the students to raise problems, analyze problems and solve problems. The special demand on talents of knowledge-economy time determines the aims of education reform that we should develop the ability of the students, pay more attention to the process of education and develop the students' creativity and that though teaching, we should teach the students how to study, how to think and how to be creative.The teaching pattern "Problem-study" is to meet the aims. So far, there are a lot of theory researches on the teaching pattern "Problem-study", but there are just a few practice researches on it. Therefore, in the wave of education reform, it is very necessary to study the teaching pattern" Problem-study" from theory to practice systematically. This paper adopts many study approaches, such as analyzing documents, teaching experiments, questionnaires and interviews to study the teaching pattern "Problem-study" of mathematics teaching systematically. The paper is divided into 3 parts. The first part (Chapter 1&2) is talking about how the problems arise and the history of the teaching pattern "Problem-study" and explain the content, theory, operating procedure, evaluating system and principles of teaching in detail.
