Dissertation On Chen Xujing And Lingnan University, Canton (1948-1952)

Xujing Chen (1903-1967) (Huaimin) was bom in Wenchang county Guangdong province; he is a famous master of social cultural, social history and education of modern china. Xujing Chen was born in an overseas Chinese businessman family, he studied in Zhiyuan primary school of Wenchang county of Hainan Islands, Yuying primary school of Singapore, Lingnan middle school of Guangdong province, the department of biology of Hujiang University and the department of social science of Fudan University in Shanghai when he was young. In the year of 1925 Xujing Chen went to the University of Illinois State to study politics and social science, he got master degree in 1926 and doctor degree in 1927.In 1928 he came back as a teacher in the department of social science of Lingnan University in Guangzhou. Later he accepted the invitation of Nankai University to take charge of the institute of economic. From 1948 to 1952 Xujing Chen was theheadmaster of Lingnan University. After that he became a professor of the department of history of Sun Yat-Sen University, then the deputy headmaster of Sun Yat-Sen University, the headmaster of Jinan University and the deputy headmaster of Nankai University.
