Jinling University is one of the earlier and more influential Christian schools.Its headmaster Chen Yuguang was the first Chinese headmaster who carries out Chinization,secularization and academic rules,and these made Jinling University the most successful church school in China.As a typical representative of the Chancellor of the University,studying Chen Yuguang's higher education thought not only can further understand Chen Yuguang's position in the history of modern Chinese higher education,but also helps deepen the history of modern Chinese higher education thought,especially for the development of the Christian University.According to explore and consolidate his managerial concepts of school running,more and more people will learn the ideas for managerial concepts and seek inspiration and reference for current higher education.Based on a detailed analysis of Chen Yuguang's idea of managerial concepts,this article explores the essence of Chen Yuguang's managerial concepts of school running by combining current problems in higher education,and uses literature analysis and case study methods to analyze the contemporary value of his school's contemporary value,for the purpose of providing the inspiration and reference for the current higher education.Therefore,this article is divided into six parts for the study: The first part is the introduction,it introduces the reasons for the topic of this article,research ideas and methods,etc.;the second part introduces Chen Yuguang's life and the development of Jinling University,in this part,I regard Chen Yuguang as an ordinary person to introduce his life;the third and fourth parts are the important contents of this article;the third part specifically elaborates the education concepts of Chen Yuguang's Jinling University during the period of 1927-1951,and I divided it into five parts to discuss.The fourth part is the discussion of the practice of school running the Jinling University by Chen Yuguang in 1927-1951.It selects three characteristic institutes of Jinling University to case studies,and combines with the idea of running school to make a study of in-depth research.The fifth part is the key content of this article,introduces the enlightenment of Chen Yuguang's schooling thought to contemporary higher education,and puts forward the following enlightenments: Firstly,developing educator-type principals and building the soul of college education;Secondly,cultivating the characteristics of university education,maintaining the lifeline of running schools in universities;Thirdly,enhancing the service function of the universities and playing a role in universities;Fourthly,rebuilding national culture education and portraying students' healthy personality in colleges and universities;Last,enhancing film and television education in colleges and universities and improve students' professional quality.According to the above enlightenments,I hope that can further promote the connotation development of higher education in China.
