A Study On The Relating Modes Of The Regional Population, Economy And Higher Education (in Theory And Demonstration)

As a special economic zone, Shenzhen has developed its economy. Being an advanced population and economic city, Shenzhen doesn't have developed higher education yet. So it is representative and valuable to take Shenzhen as the case study. And according to the theory of External Education Law put forward by Pan Maoyuan, this paper is with a view to it, discussing the innovative higher education development in Shenzhen at a kind of innovative point of view. This accords with the recent context of building innovative country and innovative higher education, making Shenzhen advance its position, boost up its international force, and be on the model of other cities.There are four chapters. Chapter 1 is the introduction, about the background, significance, reviews of former related research, definition of related concepts, primary processes and methods, and so on. Chapter 2 is to discuss the historical general situation of population, economy and higher education in Shenzhen. Chapter 3 is about comparison to other cities, finding out the gap between Shenzhen and other cities on social economy and higher education, to stress the linking function of the population, economy and higher education in Shenzhen. Chapter 4 is to build up relating modes of population, economy and higher education in Shenzhen, discussing the relevancy between population structure and industry structure, approaching the relating development of population, economy and higher education, and constructing the modes.The innovative points in this paper are as below: collecting the historical data on population, economy and higher education from 1979 to 2004 in Shenzhen by the numbers, studying Shenzhen's higher education on the tri-discipline point of view by putting the population, economy and higher education together, putting forward a research framework of the linking development of population, economy and higher education in Shenzhen, handling the statistic technique of SPSS to analyze the relating modes as initiating research of Shenzhen's higher education, and enriching the theory of External Education Law put forward by Pan Maoyuan, using the life-table technique to construct the gender life-table, in order to forecast the higher education population of the right age in the future.
