Higher vocational education, a main part of higher education, plays an important role in promoting the popularization of higher education and functions as the backbone in a nation's industrialization, socialization and modernization. Since the opening and reform policy has been carried out, the higher vocational education in China has made tremendous progress in cultivating a great number of high-quality talents applicable to the society's needs, increasing the labors'quality on a large scale and quickening the development of China's society and economy.Vocational education should be primarily employment education, oriented by obtaining employment, that is, the main goals of running higher vocational schools and academies are to meet the society's need for professional talents and to realize graduates employment.Therefor, it's necessary to research and Study Employment Status Quo and problems for Graduates of Higher Vocational Schools and Academies. This essay applies knowledge and analytical methods of MPA, on the basis of reviewing the history of the development of China's higher vocational education, this essay analyzes the characteristics as well as the strengths of obtaining employment for the current graduates of higher vocational schools and academies in China according to the statistics on the employment situation made in such kind of schools. Furthermore, it points out the inconsistency and problems in graduates employment of vocational schools and academies, and thus gives a couple of suggestions. First of all, the process of developing a sort of employment-oriented system should be boosted generally. With the precondition that the orientation towards students'being employed should be established, based on the rules of market-orientation, government-regulation, school-recommendation and two-way selection by students and employers, China's higher vocational education should insist on a progress of the combination of producing and researching, reforming the mode of training talents. Moreover, with the procedure of being assessed, invested in, adjusted and impelled, higher vocational education will meet the needs of society more and more and lead to a homeostasis of the demand and supply of talents. Secondly, the process of putting a non-obstacle employment system into practice should be advanced strongly. The leading role of the government being played fully, rules and regulations on higher vocational education being set up and perfected and the system of investment and protection being laid down and improved, the students'employment of higher vocational schools and academies will be furthered, which will create the necessary conditions for realizing non-obstacle employment. Finally, the process of working on the evaluation system of employment should be pushed forward actively. Under the administration exerted by the educational authority and the supervision exercised by the public voice, with establishing and improving the employment evaluation system and applying the integrated assessment and the public supervision, an employment-friendly society will be set up gradually to form a dynamic engine system of employment.
