The employment guidance for university students is an organized educational practice implemented with the aim of promoting the harmonious development within the students and society through the involving of planning of career, training of professional competence and the selecting of appreciate profession which are all based on the good understanding of the students characteristics and social requirements. The employment guidance for university students is of great importance for the students employment and development, the continuous development of higher education as well as the social stability and progress, thus it's currently claimed to be the high-profile agenda in higher learning institutions. Regarding to the arrival of the popularization of higher education and era of information technology, neither the developed nations nor the developing ones is shaken off the tough challenge of employment issues. The higher learning institutions therefore attach great importance to the issue of the employment guidance for the graduate. This thesis firstly points out that the employment guidance is claimed to be important for various aspects including the university students' employment; secondly, it makes an overview based on the summary of related literature of the current situation and its rational of the employment guidance of foreign higher learning institutions; thirdly, this thesis studies the present situation and its reasons of the employment guidance for university students in China; finally, regarding to the problems of China's employment guidance and standing on the successful practice of employment guidance at some higher learning institutions, this thesis presented some reform strategies for the employment guidance for university students in China which is expected to be worthy for the improvement of the issue.
