Study On The Employment Quality Of College Graduates In Beijing

With the expansion of university enrollment in recent years, higher education has transferred from cultivating outstanding person to the masses in China, the employment rate of college graduate is descending . The graduate non-employment problem has become a heated discussion in the society. Although there are many researches on the quantity problem of the graduate employment, there is few on the quality. However, the quantity problem of the graduate employment is the surface of employment issue, the problem of quality is under the surface . We can easily find many reports about the phenomenon of frequent job-hopping , short-term contract and low salary of college graduate . It is high time to pay more attentions and research on college graduate's job-stability, salary , benefit ,work time and so on. According to these researches , we can find out the college graduate's situation on their first job and the mistake they made in seeking job .In this thesis, the author researches on the employment quality of college graduates in Beijing by establishing the qualitative evaluation system and designing the questionnaire which focus on the salary , social security, work-time, job-stability, training , contract and other evaluating indicators. After surveying on these indicators, this thesis analyses the statistical data and draw the conclusion that with the increasingly large number of college graduate by continual expansion of university enrollment, the environment of employment isn't changing better and the trend of employment quality of college graduates(especially the undergraduate) is descending.The thesis also analyses the evaluating indicators one by one and find some serious problems about the graduate's salary , work-time and participation in labor union . The author makes some suggestion for the government ,the college, the employer and college students to improve the employment quality.
