| In recent years, the traditional concepts of 'intelligence' have become more and more inadaptable to the goal of quality education. The problem of how to assess 'intelligence' has become the urgent need of the development of education. Professor Garderner of Harvard has set forth the theory of 'multiple intelligences' (MI) which offers a new way of thinking and helps us to assess 'intelligence' in all possible perspectives. Thus it is become important guidance on the educational ideology of many countries including the US. In our country, though the research and application of MI started late comparing that of other countries, it develops very rapidly and draws the educators' increasing attention.According to the principle of the Multiple Intelligence, teaching should be based on two points. One is 'teaching for the multiple intelligences'. The other is 'teaching through the multiple intelligences'. The former is the new location of the education aims of today. The latter puts forward with the new ways of education. With the promulgation of the《Curriculum, Standard of Senior Geography for full time study》by educational department in July, 2001, the new reform puts the geography experiment and practice to a new height. I brought Gardenner's multiple intelligences into senior geography practical lesson. From the different parts of students' multiple intelligences and by multiple intelligences, it is proved the ability to apply to multiple intelligences. Based on the investigation of students' intelligences, the strategies for multiple geography activity are made and the theory of multiple intelligences is carried out in senior geography class. The application of the theory of multiple intelligences can cultivate students' ability, develop students' interest and arouse students' creativity. Meanwhile, my summary may not be complete. I hope it can provide some useful reference for those who are having the study of the multiple intelligences. |
