As the reform of fundamental educational curriculum gradually carries out, teaching is considered as the main mission of the educational reform. The theory of multiple intelligence, which is put forward by professor Gardner, psychologist in U.S.A. is characterized as the new form of intelligence, evaluation and implementation. Thus it has been regarded as one of the fundamental theory basic of Chinese educational curriculum reform.Based on the research on multiple intelligence theory and practical teaching experience, the article analyzes the current situation of geography teaching in junior middle school. It also brings forward the meaning of applying multiple intelligence theory to the teaching, as well as the principle of application. By researching on survey and analysis of student intelligence structure and learning method, the author brings about the views as follows: creating various teaching context and using flexible teaching method emphasizing individual in junior middle school; developing students' space intelligence and considering it as an important criterion of evaluation.Mainly based on my own teaching practice, the article cites and analyses the relevant cases of teaching on the condition of current teaching system. The thesis expands four strategies of applying theory of multiple intelligence: The strategy of exactly catching the starting point in class. The strategy of implementing individualized teaching which regards the differences among individuals. The strategy of developing students' space intelligence. The strategy of multiple evaluation methods on the growth of studentsEvery strategy gives the principal points in detail in order to provide the immediate reference to geography teachers. Before and after the experiment, the author contrasts the student's learning interests, the developing of the visual-spatial intelligence and the geography achievement, and then comprehensively analyses the findings and problems.
