Cuizhu Primary School of Shenzhen encourages the students to form some off-campus cooperative social practice groups with the purpose of turning the closed school into an open one. Each practice group is made of 4-6 students and has activities mainly at weekends or in the holidays. The school makes different plans for the students' reference but the students can decide the themes of the activities and make plans by themselves through group discussion. The parents take responsibilities in turn and every activity is carefully organized with detailed plans, aims, records, safety precautions and the students' feedback reports. These off-campus cooperative social practice group enable the students to walk into the society where they can enrich their knowledge, temper their willpower, establish correct values as well as positive outlooks on life. These cooperative activities also contribute a lot to the enhancement of the students' overall qualities, including the ability of organization, analyzing, problem-solving and creativity. The students have , through the practice, built up strong senses of environmental protection, legal awareness and the awareness of the obligations of a citizen.This essay mainly focuses on the illustration of how Cuizhu Primary School developed and managed its school-based curriculum, especially on how the school developed the school-based course "Off-campus Family-school Interactive Cooperative Social Practice",which is typical of the school and a shining point during the national curriculum reform. The essay makes a detailed analysis and illustration of the background, and the theory and policy basis for the course. It also introduces the organization and management of this new course including the means of assessment. The achievements of this course and the problems that occurred during the process of organization are also clarified carefully in the essay.
