In the usual teaching, we find a considerable number of students display a certain degree of communication obstacles when they are communicating in English. Some students are not able to speak well or afraid to speak for the lack of self-confidence, though they have a certain knowledge of spoken English. Some students can't make themselves understood for poor performance in communicating as a result of the lack of a certain knowledge of spoken English, though they are brave enough to express themselves. Some students have to remain silent in communicating because they have no self-confidence or a certain knowledge of spoken English. These intercommunication barriers relate to the result of teaching. Therefore, "intercommunication obstacle of spoken English" becomes the topic of study in this paper. The paper first indicates that obstacles appear in the spoken English intercommunication, because of lacking self-confidence and poor spoken English. Next the paper explains the importance of the spoken English intercommunication through the entire teaching as well as the new situations. Then it looks back the spoken language teaching theories and the researches about self-confidence abroad and domestic. With the help of questionnaires, it obtains the information of the conditions of the students' self-confidence and English study self-confidence, it also obtains the influence of the school teaching behavior and the family & social environment to the students' self-confidence.
