The ability of spoken language expression is a basic language ability of a middle-school student or a high-school student, people more and more realize its importance, but how to cultivate the students'ability of spoken language expression has become the key point which all quarters have paid attention to for many years.The present paper mainly gives us a research into following several aspects of the problem: One is to have profound understanding that the ability of spoken language expression cultivation plays a vital role on promoting the students'capability of Chinese learning and helping them to meet the new century's challenge;Two, through analyzing the present situation of the students'ability of spoken language expression, discovers the deficiency in the cultivation and seeks the cause of formation; Three, proposes the corresponding improvement strategy in view of these present insufficiencies.The first part of the paper is proposed the meaning of the ability of spoken language expression and the principle of cultivation.The second part embarks from the historic and theory angles, through the comment of some educationalists in the history, on students'ability of spoken language expression cultivation in our country, emphasizes the significance and the function of cultivating this ability.The third part through the elaboration of the teaching request at present, especially spoken language training content in "Curriculum Standard" and the teaching materials, gets a clear picture about the new century's request of the ability cultivation.The fourth part emphatically through the analysis to the present middle-school and high-school students'ability of spoken language expression, find out the flaw and the insufficiency existing in the cultivation, induced several kinds of the barely satisfactory performance in the classroom, carried on the origin analysis.The fifth part emphatically elaborates the measure and the concrete implement- ation plan of strengthening the cultivation to improve the students'ability of spoken language expression.
