Nel Noddings Caring Theory came into being in the middle of the 1980s in America. It is the application of Caring Theory in moral education fields. As an integrated theory system, Caring Theory is made up of many content, such as: teaching aim, moral education substance, moral teaching method, the quality of the teacher, etc. Caring Theory emphasizes the moral signification of teaching, advocate that teaching should develop the person who has the ability, cares for others, loves others and deserves to be loved. Noddings Caring Theory produced great impact on the teaching theory and practice in America. With the rise of the teaching thought of"learn to care", this theory was paid more attention to and became an attractive western moral education section, In this thesis, I analyze Noddings Caring Theory thoroughly from the view of moral education, using the way of document, comparison and analysis. At the same time, I draw great inspiration to moral education in our middle school on the basis of this theory.This thesis consists of three parts.The first part: In the first part, I mainly talk about the social background and theoretical basis of Noddings Caring Theory. Globalism problem relates to the fate of mankind and it can be solved only by the care of mankind. Noddings Caring Theory is the outcome of all kinds of social contradictory in western culture. At the time the spirit field of people began to change in the condition of marketing economic, and no one cared about the American society and schools. The Caring Theory initiators took on the responsibilities of caring students. On the basis of theory, I mainly analyses the impact on Noddings Caring Theory from humanism pedagogy. Duvei's moral education thought and female caring ethics.The second part: I discuss the main content and characters of Noddings Caring Theory. Noddings put forward a proposal that the teaching's aim is to encourage those who have ability, care for others, knows how to love others and deserve to be loved to grow up healthily. He also raised the lesson design model and continuous teaching activity principles about care, analyzed the four moral education methods about care, and the new requests to teacher's quality. On the basis of these analyses, I found that Caring Theory has five features, that is: take a focus on the practice of moral education, pay attention to the moral emotion of education and the positive role of the teachers.The third part: I talk about the revelation of Noddings Caring Theory to the moral education of the middle school in our country. Noddings Caring Theory is really special. It greatly changed our knowledge about moral development and moral education, opened a new train of thought on school moral education, In the moral education reformation, this theory played an important part too. Today,"learn to care"has become the subject of the education in the world. We should make care as the core of the moral education in our middle school. The student's care quality can only be fostered and developed in caring relationship. We should hold on this as our teaching thought, that is, let the students learn how to care for others. As moral emotion plays an important part in the moral development of middle school students', strengthening the moral education is the important way to improve the substantial results of moral education.The reasons why I choose Noddings Caring Theory as my object of study are: (1)"Learn to care"is a declaration raised on the meeting held by the United Nation. All the experts attended the meeting agreed unanimously that we should teach the students how to care for others, how to care for our society and our country, how to care for the living conditions of mankind. The teaching aim of 21st century can be focus on one phrase, which is"learn to care". The moral education of our country should adopt this requirement,. The reformation on the moral education method should be performed. (2) Just as Noddings criticism, our middle school education also exist the phenomenon of"only admit the scores the students got". The students bear too much pressure. Under the great pressure of study, the students'study motion and personality have been twisted. They become selfish, lack of care and all of these influenced on their growth. So our middle school moral education should be used to encourage the students'caring ability. The main pursuit of our middle school moral education should be the core of care. (3) Our Chinese have great traditions of take moral education seriously. After the new China founded, our moral education has been developed greatly. But with the development of our society, our traditional moral education cannot meet the needs of the times. So the moral education reformation of our country should be carried out on the basis of studying and making use of other countries moral education theory and practice. Today,"learn to care"has become the international teaching thought, so his theory is really important to our moral education reformation.Noddings Caring Theory has greatly influenced to western moral theory. Recently, some scholars began to study and introduce his theory to us, but there is no one who discusses it from the view of middle school moral education. The value of this thesis lies in this.
