With the advent of a new era of economical knowledge and the development of IT, great changes occurred in both internal and external environment in college. The system of financial organization, work process and management methods, which all based on the traditional theory of dividing the work in college were facing the challenge.Business Process Reengineering theory, which came into being in enterprise and from the process point of view, scant and designed the business process once more, has made great progress on improving efficiency by eliminating the useless process and set up the new procedure that is customer-oriented. On the basis of the new concept of the 1990's-Researches Business Process Reengineering, this thesis analyzes the condition of college's financial management and the problems of the financial organization and business process, discusses the relevant problems of college financial management process reengineering, puts forward to apply business process reengineering theory, uses relevant technology methods and modern IT, works for process and result but not sector and function, set up a new budget and financial accounts, and accounting system which based on financial management. First, the thesis analyzed the relevant theory of BPR, included the concept and structure, the content and background, the essential and sort, the applications and development of BPR etc. Next, the author compared the working processes between the enterprise and college, and proved the similarities of the two, then made a solid foundation of business process reengineering in college. Next, the thesis gave general information about college's financial management on its concept, principals, aims, tasks and characteristics. And then, the author analyzed the real condition of college's financial management, and opened out the existent problems. And last, the author gave the reason why all these problems came out from the process aspect. In the last section of the thesis, the author gained a general structure for college's financial management process reengineering, and illuminated the steps, organization, employees'self-quality, technology and methods as well as the other things should pay attention to of process reengineering. At the end, based on the dissertation above, the author made aconclusion about the practice of college's financial process reengineering in Xi'an Jiaotong University.The main progress of the thesis is brought the idea of BPR to the improvement of college's financial management. And the author of the thesis made certain useful attempt on finding and eliminating the problems from process point of view, these creative attempts offered some constructive and referenced thinking for the development of college's financial management.
