Research On Process Optimization Of University Scientific Research Management Based On Process Reengineering

In the 1990 s, many companies found that they were caught in a dilemma because of the growing customer demand, increasingly fierce market competition and ever-changing international situation. They urgently need a new theory to g uide them out of trouble. Fortunately, the business process reengineering(BPR) came into being.Business process reengineering was used by a number of internationally renowned universities after be successfully applied to some companies. It broke the existing scientific research management in universities based on the theory of division of labor management organization structure. With the continuous development of IT information technology, the university scientific research management had changed greatly in the manner. It is imminent to reengineer the original process and build a new system for scientific research management. The author suggests that colleges and universities should seize this opportunity, meet the challenges and put the process reengineering for scientific research on the agenda.This paper firstly introduces the theoretical framework, main content and features of business process reengineering. Then this paper analyzes the current situation of university research management in China, summarizes a number of problems that exist in our university research management activities and believe that it is very necessary for process reengineering. The author builds the overall process reengineering program for university research management. This paper combines with the information system for scientific research management, builds a system of university scientific research management in accordance with several steps including business processes construction, business process analysis, business process design and business process implementation. Business Process Reengineering theory applied in universities is still in the exploratory stage. The author hopes the research of this paper could provide some valuable research results to promote the development of university citify research management.
