Adult education in Shanghai has an obvious achievement since the opening policy and reform. Nowadays, the theory studying and practice developing of Shanghai adult education has be a leading role in the whole field of our country. However, looking back to its glorious history, we can see that it has experienced a zigzagged development. This dissertation will try to reflect this developing course by studying several old adult educators' working experience, which is from 1978 to 2000.And show the researching result by analyze these first-handed data.There are six chapters in this dissertation. The primary contents will be introduced as follows:Chapter 1 Exordium In this chapter the author mainly introduces the studying background, the significance, and trims those existed study data systemically.Chapter 2 Studying Process and Studying Project This chapter mainly explains how does the author settle down the method of research, make sure the interview object, collect and analyze the data, and elaborate the dissertation's study significance. Meanwhile introduces the interview process, text analyzing process, and the way of forming text.Chapter 3 Retrospection of Shanghai Adult Education Development in the Last 20 Years The author looked back Shanghai adult education developing history in the past twenty years, and summarized and speculated characteristis of each developing stage.Chapter 4 Three Stories This chapter is the main body of the dissertation, which recorded down 3 old adult educators working stories. Meanwhile, the author combined together the developing history of adult education in their eyes and the relevant written-down data and showed them out in interviewing notes.Chapter 5 Speculation This part mainly said the factors that affect the development of adult education by analyzing those three stories. The author analyses outer factor, inner factor, government function and operator's experiences these factors, and had a brief summarization about these four factor's relationship.
