The paper, based on the idea of basic education reform and pushed education for all-around development makes a theoretical and empirical study on the "process and method" of geography curriculum under geography curriculum standard.From the goal of geography curriculum, content and ideas of the new view,and applying geographical science view, ideology and methods, this thesis analyzed the basic theory in geography teaching. Furthermore,it probes the methods and the basic perspective in geography teaching, looking forward to apply the geography science measure and basic perspective in to geography teaching.This research provides the geography teaches of the middle schools with which combines and practices is operational, and includes geography measure and view.In this research, I adopt several methods,such as review, theoretical analysis,empirical study, queationnaire investigation and comparitive analysis and so on.The first part is ana analysis on the theoretical basis of "process and methods".Based on the Marxism, the system theory of Beta Lungfy, the theories of life education, bring-up education and moral education theory,the principles of modern times education and education technology,the theories of psychology and education psychology theory, the geography teaching process and leaning methodology, and the geography science I analyze the importance of geography "process and method" aim.On the basis of the theories mentioned above,the second part compares the geography "process and methods" aim, in geography curriculum standard of the primary countries in the world and that of China in different periods;Among the three inter-connected aims, "knowledge and technology" is the basic goal(precondition), "process and method" is the key aim(strategy), and "emotion attitude and sense of value" is the ultimate aim(sublimation).Therefore, "process and method" is the "bridge" to realize all of the aims.The third part,the core part,explores how to realize the teaching goals of the geography "process and method" , after comparing the traditional teaching design to the modern teaching design, I argue that mentioned the aim of geography curriculum should be changed to "focus on students", rather then "focus on knowledge",the curriculum design should turn to "showing knowledge" to "promoting action, mastery method", the curriculum evaluation should change from "focusing on result only" to "focusing on both process and result". The "process and method" aim can be putting into effect by paying much attention to the process of students' participation, the process of applying geography knowledge, the process of discovering geography business, and optimizing the process of teaching, completing the aim of teaching. Furthermore,for the evaluating of the aim of "process and method", different standards should be used, focus on the personality of differences of the students' personalities should be considered to realize the sustainable development of their qualities.The forth part is a case study on the geography "process and method" aim. In the case study,teaching design, teaching implementation, teaching result, and teaching feedback are analyzed.
