As an essential component of modern education, secondary vocational education is the important backbone towards industrialization, production-socialization and modernization. The economy take-off and adjustment of industrial structure in present China are in urgent need of people with practical skills who can work in the very front of manufacturing, service and management fields. Yet China's late start in secondary vocational education with a weak foundation, backward educational concepts as well as inefficient school running systems, has resulted in a slow development of its secondary vocational education and has therefore severely hindered the development of economy. In this sense, it remains an essential strategic task in China present to push forward the reform of vocational education system, strengthen secondary vocational education and cultivate hundreds of millions of highly qualified laborers. As one of the most developed countries in terms of secondary vocational education, Denmark is proud of its perfect secondary vocational education system, strict teacher-training framework and vocational education laws and regulations. Secondary vocational education in Denmark has also gained a world-wide fame . The situation in China is different from the situation in Denmark, so we can't imitate the Denmark secondary vocational education pattern. We can only find a way suitable for developments of China's secondary vocational education by combining China's own practice while referring to existing Denmark experiences.By means of comparative research, historical research as well as literature research, this essay compares and researches the secondary vocational education in China and in Denmark from four aspects. Firstly, researching and analyzing the history, the present situation and the characteristics of the secondary vocational education in China. Secondly, researching and analyzing the history, the present situation and the characteristics of the secondary vocational education in Denmark. Thirdly, comparing the differences between China and Denmark in educational concepts, educational model, society participation and teachers' level. Forthly, by means of comparative research, finding some enlightenment for our secondary vocational education.
