Exploration On General Education In Teacher Education

Education is a long-term project in which teachers play the most important role. Teacher education can make sure the teachers'specialization improvement and the carrying out of quality education in elementary and middle schools. The aim of general education is to make progresses in every aspect for one person who grown-up. So it is of great significance to enhance general education for teacher education in our country.This paper illustrates the connotation and the meaning of general education, indicates the function is to cultivate qualified teachers and standard citizens, who can actively take apart in social affairs, be responsible for himself and other people, and be all-round development. Implementing general education in teacher education is an international trend, It makes sure that normal universities or colleges can be succeed in the intense market-competition, and improve the educational system and teachers'occupational moral, and shoulder the load of enhancing citizen's qualities. According to the survey, the paper points out that the problems which about not only mentality but also practical operation in implementing general education in the field of teacher education. It exposes the causes of the current state, and analyzes the affections, which come from school itself, society and students'families. If people didn't take any measures to improve the current state, there would be clamp down on the teachers'sustaining development, as well as the future of students and our country. Finally, it puts forward some useful countermeasures for the general education in teacher education. That is, people must pay more attention to the general education, understand its importance correctly, readjust the subjects'structures and contents, attach importance to recessive curriculums, strengthen its value and properly use them, reform the systems of students'examination and teachers'evaluation, deal with the relationships between general and specialized education properly, and integrate them, advance the qualities of teachers.This paper aims to provide probing suggestions for implementing general education in the field of teacher education, and innovate the current state, so that the normal universities or colleges could achieve the goal to form a more efficient and practical system to improve the quality of education programs.
