General teacher refers to those teachers who can undertake Chinese language,mathematics and other subjects teaching task.Generally speaking,general teachers are suitable for small-scale schools in rural areas.Recent years,phenomenon including superficial plentiful stuff,heavy tasks for rural teachers are becoming more serious.To solve these problems,some provinces started the program of general teacher cultivating for rural primary schools.In consideration of the problems stated above would exist in a long term for rural primary schools,the center government has introduced a serious policies to require local governments to further continue the program,and this promotes many local universities to join the program.However,difficulties and query still exist during the whole process on implement the policies.This paper tries to ask the following questions,firstly,what is the exact connotation of general teacher? What is the point and foundation of this program? Also what is the educational objectives of general teacher,how to construct and choose proper cultivating curriculum for general teacher,etc.Based on the analysis of a series of document literature,investigation reports and policy texts,this paper tries to explore the significance,connotation,foundation and possibility of general teacher for rural primary schools cultivation program.Through random sampling,the author interviews students and teachers from several local universities.interviewees also include on-job general teachers and government officials.Research shows that,in order to solve the problem of teacher shortage,there is an urgent need to cultivate proper teachers for rural schools,meanwhile,general teachers program serves the best choice under current situation.This concludes the axiology foundation of this paper.In consideration of both divided and comprehensive trend of subject category,exploring comprehensive curriculum to solve the problem of divided course,and adjust the course for rural teacher cultivating.This concludes the epistemology foundation of this paper,which are interpretable under the theory of curriculum.Research on the current situation of cultivation of general teachers for rural schools shows that,cognition errors of general teacher still exist,meanwhile,the simplification of cultivating object,flaws of curriculum are greatly hindering the practice of general teacher cultivation.To solve these problems,this paper suggests that,establishing serving rural schools as an ultimate goal.Under the guidance of this goal,to help future rural teachers form the vital abilities in teaching,and introduce the joint training pattern.During the pre-job training for rural primary school teachers,firstly,curriculum structure should oriented to general subject,while,the content of curriculums should oriented to entirety.Secondly,the practice of curriculums should oriented to learning and doing all-in-one.Thirdly,curriculum assessment should pay more attention to the improvement of vital abilities of general teachers.Last but not least,under the deep reflection,we suggest that related policies from centre government should transfer from rigidity guidelines to flexible control,so the local governments and universities could have more space and impetus to innovate related policies during practice.This paper also pays reflection to pre-job training of general teacher for rural schools,current situation of general teacher training program has serious problems.Such as,the attractiveness of general teacher is insufficient from the perspective of centre government policies,afterwards institution for general teacher has flaws,uncertainty still exists for the future professional development of rural school general teachers.Looking into the future,we should encourage more support from the whole society to help the development of rural schools,and to construct more excellent curriculums,meanwhile,pay more attention to the professional development of rural school general teachers.
