21st century is an era of information and technology, therefore, more usage of multimedia in the teaching process is the trend which we need to follow. The core issue in solid geometry in the senior middle school period is the capability of spatial imagination for a long period of time. This article starts with the description of the current situation of students'learning on solid geometry, gets such a conclusion that it is necessary to cultivate their capability of spatial imagination. This paper aims at exploring how to help students get higher scores in the exam as well as develop their capability of spatial imagination through taking use of the multimedia technology. In order to make the experiment more convincing, the thesis explains the essence of spatial imagination capability in details, together with many literature reviews on multimedia, furthermore, discusses the application strategy of multimedia technology from different perspectives. The tenet of this experiment is based on the necessity of education reform and the development of the society, aims at exceeding the limits of traditional classroom teaching, and is guided by the audio-lingualism and the constructionism, takes advantage of the multimedia technology to make some reform on the traditional classroom teaching, is designed to promote the development of students'spatial imagination aptitude, moreover to bring up their interest in learning solid geometry and aid them to get a higher score in their exam and finally put forward their personal development. By the implementation of this experiment, the function of multimedia can be presented much better, the division of responsibility of teacher and students can be depicted more profounding, as well as in a more freer environment, students have more opportunity to interact with each other and practice their own ideas eventually improve themselves from overall aspects. The result of the experiment shows that, under the experiment condition, students'autonomic learning ability, cooperation ability, and creativity and so on have been improved obviously, furthermore, students get higher marks and explore their own potential in learning the subject.
