Audio-lingual method is play an important role in second language teaching.Domestic research materials related to Audio-lingual method mainly focus on teaching the theoretical research,application research on Audio-lingual method,comparative research on the application of listening method and other teaching methods.There is not much research data on the application of the Audio-lingual method in integrated primary Chinese classes in the Philippines.This paper is based on the theory of Audio-lingual method,used Filipino students as the study population.This paper uses literature research,interview survey and case study methods to analyze the actual situation of Chinese language teachers' application of Audio-lingual method in Philippines comprehensive Chinese courses.Summarize the problems of the application of Audio-lingual method in Philippines comprehensive Chinese courses.And make suggestions to improve the Audio-lingual method teaching,hope it is useful for Audio-lingual method teaching.First,this article will use the literature review method to collect teaching theories and learn about teaching research in Audio-lingual method.Second,combining the author's teaching experience,take the Hua Ying Elementary School in the Philippines as the research object.The author will use classroom observations and teacher interviews to explain the school profile,the characteristics of the students and the basic situation of the Chinese teachers teaching in Hua Ying Primary School how to use the Audio-lingual method.Third,combined with the author's lesson plans when teaching at Hua Ying Elementary School,selected from them a typical teaching application of Audio-lingual in the Chinese class.The phonetic exercises in the phonetic special training summarized by the volunteer teachers and the vocabulary and sentence patterns in the Chinese language textbook of Hua Ying Primary School are used as the research content.Summarize the design of phonics,vocabulary and grammar teaching examples and practice classroom teaching according to the Audio-lingual method.Through analyzing the teaching situation,it was concluded that the teaching of Audio-lingual method in Filipino elementary Chinese comprehensive class has the problems of neglecting the characteristics of Filipino students;neglecting the positive reinforcement effect by correcting errors;neglecting the training of writing skills;rigid way of vocabulary practice;single drill material;and neglecting the explanation of grammar rules.Based on the analysis,we propose the application of the Audio-lingual method to a comprehensive class of elementary Chinese in the Philippines.Chinese teachers should be student-centered when teaching.Classroom activities should become more communicative.Balanced language skills training.Increase teaching interest and focus on classroom management.The Chinese teachers should improve their abilities.Hua Ying Primary School should improve their multimedia facilities,strengthen the communication among Chinese teachers,and enrich the teaching resources.This article mainly discusses the application of the Audio-lingual method in a comprehensive elementary Chinese class in the Philippines,which can provide some case reference value for overseas Chinese teachers,especially those who go to the Philippines,when they choose to use the Audio-lingual method.It can better promote the development of Chinese language teaching in the Philippines,provide new and improved ideas for the design of Audio-lingual method teaching and the implementation of classroom teaching sessions in the Philippines,and promote the further development of Chinese language teaching overseas.
