In the history of China's traditional education, Chinese-language education has always been a high priority. One of the important reasons is that Chinese carries profound humanistic values. And educational scholars at home and abroad also pay much attention to the function of moral education which is shouldered by mother-tough teaching in the basic education.The publication and implementation of The Criteria of the General Chinese-Language Teaching in High School (Experimental) starts a new round of teaching reform. As one of the most importantly basic teaching curriculum, the teaching objective to foster the emotion, attitudes and values is proposed for Chinese-Language curriculum in high school correspondingly. Under the pressure of college entrance examination, the Chinese-Language teaching has formed its own way that is to emphasize"imparting knowledge"but ignore the other teaching concepts and ways, which neglects the whole Chinese proficiency and the cultivation and mold of the overall morality and basic values of high school students.In this dissertation, the basic concept of is to re-establish a"Imparting Knowledge and Educating People"principle and give full play to"Text Carrying the Way"—the function of moral education of Chinese-language—in order to effectively influence the mold of the moral quality and basic value of students. Based on the surveys of 700 high students in Jinlin, Hebei and Zhejiang Province, this dissertation attempts to analyze the phenomena and reasons why the moral education in Chinese-language teaching in high schools does not function very well, and seek the basic ways to solve this issue according to the latest studies and practical results in relevant fields. From various aspects, such as the improvement of curriculum, the collection of materials, the imparting ways of teachers, the perspectives of teaching and the reforms of teaching ways, it demonstrates the feasibility to improve the function of moral education, and attempts to provide the resolutions for the issues, for example, the contents of moral education are outdated and out of students'daily life and the concepts are vague; and serve for Chinese-language teaching better, the aim of which is to put the teaching concept—the cultivation of students'moral quality—in practice essentially.
