At present, training students to apply effective learning strategies to their studies and teach them how to learn have been regarded as a fruitful way to help students leam effectively. Effective chemistry learning strategies can help students out the dilemma in chemistry learning and improve their academic achievements. One of the main reasons why students encounter many difficulties in chemistry learning is that they haven't been trained and applied some effective chemistry learning strategies to their studies. In chemistry learning strategies instruction exist two problems. On one hand, when the system of chemistry learning strategies is not yet constructed or revealed in the previous researches, teachers need to have a knowledge of learning strategies so that they can help students develop the ideas of applying learning strategies to their studies. On the other hand, the instruction of chemistry learning strategies is restrained by the learning ability among schoolboys and schoolgirls, which leads to few researches in this field. The above two problems are the ones the paper focuses on. In order to solve these problems, an experiment was conducted, based on the theories of contemporary education and the New Standard for Chemistry Course.240 students in total from Grade Two of Wuming Senior Middle School participated in the project. Two tests were given respectively before and after the experiment. Teaching Plans for Chemistry learning strategies for High School Students was applied when the author consciously gave the students the training on chemistry leaming strategies. The experiment lasted 12 weeks.The results from the experiment are as follows:1. Having been given effective chemistry learning strategies, the students can promptly improve their academic achievements and learning ability. It reveals that the training model of chemistry learning strategies in the research can effectively help the students develop the ideas of applying learning strategies to their studies.2. The group of ineffective learners have been in a better position in chemistry learning than the group of effective learners.3. There are no apparent differences between schoolboys and schoolgirls who have been given chemistry learning strategies.
