As the developing china entering into the aging society, it is a stemchallenge for our country to develop the economy and improve socialsecurity system. The old age sport can partly relieve the pressure of socialdevelopment that caused by the aging people. As the same time, it ispositive to improve the old people's health and enhance the life quality.68 old people aged 60-69 who had no serious illness, nor do exercisefrequently were studied through a 16-week (5time/week, 60-90min/time)balloon volleyball exercise with medium intensity. Examining thechanges of physical index, we compared the figure and body composition,physiology and enginery and physique taken before and after exercising.After balloon volleyball practicing, the results showed as follows:(1)Both the women and men's height unchanged; however, bodyweight, waist girth, hip girth, the thickness of skin-fold of scapula andabdomen decreased apparently. The same happened to the thickness ofskin-fold of the women's shoulder. From those changes, we can see thatthe balloon volleyball game is good to control weight and decrease bodyfat if consist on practicing. It makes the elder's figure and bodycomposition better than before.(2)For the old women and men, the balloon volleyball practice canreduce the systolic pressure and diastolic pressure, enhance sit-stand-test index, improve vital capacity. However, there's no obvious effect on theHR at rest. Those changes suggest that persisting in exercising can adjustto the blood pressure, enhance the function of heart and lung.(3)The elder's gripping power, seated thunk bending forward andreaction time improved apparently. It means that it is positive to raise theelder's strength, pliability and sensitivity.(4)During the 16-week practicing experiment, there wasn't anypeople hurt. It probably matter with the better health care guide, whichhelp old people to control the sport means and intensity. Obviously, wecan protect old people from injuries in sport by directing themscientifically.
