China's non-governmental universities have problems in many aspects, such asin management, teaching staff, teaching conduct, so they are in inferior position in thecompetition. The fact proved that only non-governmental universities rely oncompetitiveness in themselves, can solve these problems above and obtain persistentcompetitiveness.This paper selects Baiyun Institude as a case study, the research is based on itsspecialty setting, teaching staff, financing and administration, by doing survey on thespot, making interview with correlative persons, let the students in that universityfinish questionnaire, and then make use of SWOT model to analyze Baiyun Institue'sstrengths ,weaknesses , opportunities and threats. Sum up its features in runningschool are: press close to market, synchronous step, operates like company andmulti-mix measures. The four features are incarnate in the advanced notion whichlead by market, in innovation pattern which act as a company, in aggregating socialresources and in keeping pace with the times. Confirm that Baiyun Institude's successown to four factors: clear orientation, leader is far-sighted; keep dynamicdevelopment, brave in innovation; collect inner and outer resources efficiently;operate in company pattern, pay attention to efficiency. At last, Giving somesuggestions to enhance non-governmental universities' competitiveness, includingstrengthen the construction both of subject and speciality, optimize inner management,potentiate the construction of teaching staff, keep the high rate of obtain employmentand foster excellent campus culture. These suggestions are also beneficial to othernon-governmental universities.
