The discipline character is a steady integrative characteristic which expresses during the development of this discipline itself. To verify the discipline character of pedagogy can help us to understand the complexity and speciality of pedagogy sufficiently, to make the practice of pedagogic research having more humanity thoughts and to improve the theory construction itself as well. And it can also make education as a cultivating activity which is fulled of humanity sense and solicitude under the effective guidance of pedagogy.The thesis consists of four chapters. The preface analyzed the fundamental concepts of"pedagogy","humanities","character","discipline character"and"humanities character",and summed up the related researches, which is as the further studies foundation on this topic. The first chapter analyzed the development history and affecting factor of discipline character of pedagogy. Due to the influence of self-consciousness and circumstance of discipline, pedagogy expresses different character in the different developing period. In the period of formation, pedagogy displays the character as philosophy. In the diversified period, different group of pedagogy shows different character. And in the period of polarization, it shows the natural science character. The second chapter analyzed the formation condition and mechanism of humanities character of pedagogy. The formation conditions can be divided into two aspects: the interior condition and exterior condition. The interior conditions are the humanity nature of education and the congenital humanity of pedagogy; the exterior conditions are the summons of the humanity and the disadvantage of study paradigm in social science. The formation mechanism has the following relating process: the deviation between the theory and practice of education inspires the self-consciousness of pedagogy; and the self-consciousness caused the auto-action of using humanities study paradigm; this action finally impelled the formation of the humanities character of pedagogy. The third chapter analyzed the embodiment of humanities character of pedagogy. Both of pedagogy and humanities have complexity, situation and valuation in research objects; both of them have diversity and integration in the research method by using scientific and artistic methods; both of them have humanity, experience and valuation in discipline feature; both of them are for human and improving the development of people in discipline objective, so pedagogy embodies the humanities character.
