The Shanxi-Gansu-Ningxia Border area was where the CentralCommittee of the Communist Party of China located and one of guidance centre ofanti-Japanese and national salvation movement all over the country duringAnti-Japanese War. As the plenary stragegic home where the Central Committee of theCommunist Party of China guided to fight against the Japanese army, in comparisonwith other base areas, the Shanxi-Gansu-Ningxia Border Area have comparativelystable political surroundings. Therefore, the Central Committee of the Communist Partyof China was able to put comprehensive society reformation in practice here, andattained objectives of construting new democratic society. The Central Committee of theCommunist Party of China and the border area government made the border areachanged ultimately, which the border area appeared the harmonious scene filled withvitality and vigor during Anti-Japanese War, through political construction, economicreform, culture and education development.Implementation and development of social education is an important approach andcontent of constructing harmonious society in The Shanxi-Gansu-Ningxia Border area.The party and the border government adopted various ways to develop social education,and combined social education with varieties of social activities, such as regimeconstruction, economical production, supporting the front working, supporting armyand treating preferentially the families whose members were currently fighting againstthe Japanese army etc. The populace not only learned scientific and cultural knowledge,strengthened political consciousness and production's enthusiasm, but improved publicquality as well. As a result, it advanced political democracy, economic growth, cultureprosperity, and realized stable and harmonious development of the border area.Social education of the Shanxi-Gansu-Ningxia Border area during Anti-JapaneseWar was an extremely characteristic and successful type of adult education. Socialeducation of the border area was closely cooperated with political and economicdevelopment, promoted social metabolism, built a stable and harmonious socialenvironment, and established a balanced base for fighting against the Japanese army. So, it is not only significant in theoretic values but also in practice that to discuss inherentrelationships and historic causes of social education and social harmonious developmentin the border area, providing beneficial experiences for harmonious development of therural society though researching the problem.The thesis mainly elaborates and discusses four questions in the following basedon predecessor's research results, collecting material and reading literature.Section one, the section reviews historical background of social education in theShanxi-Gansu-Ningxia Border area. The section mainly includes social condition of thearea before and early after the government was established in Shanxi-Gansu-NingxiaBorder area. National situation of Anti-Japanese War suggested executing socialeducation. Social condition of executing and developing the social education in the area.Section two, the section elaborates in detail the social education in theShanxi-Gansu-Ningxia Border area. The section mainly includes basic policy and aseries of principle, executive and management systems, form of social education, andachievement of social education.Section three, the section emphatically elaborates social education and socialharmonious development in the Shanxi-Gansu-Ningxia Border area. The mainarguments include that the social education caused the populace consciously to supportruling policy of the Communist Party of China and the government of the border area,the social education effectively mobilized the populace to support the Anti-JapaneseWar, the social education promoted development of economy and prosperity of culturein this area, the social education altered the social status of the region, and the socialeducation impelled advancement of politics democratization.Section four, the section emphatically elaborates important reference significancefor constructing the harmonious society in countryside in china on the base ofsummarizing the social education's historical experience to harmonious development ofthe region. Its significance mainly includes that vigorously developing social educationin countryside enhances the populace's independent consciousness and ability of statingan undertaking, enhances policy level and management ability of cadres, strengthens thepopulace's democracy consciousness, and makes the populace to erect correct valuesand noble moralic standards.
