With the large-scale expansion of China's higher education and the system of "meeting between supply and demand, two-way selection", the state of graduate employment grew severe to some extent, which has aroused public attention. In such a background, it is of great significance to guide the graduates through job seeking, and obviously, the group of mentors plays the key role in the work: the quality of mentors is the deciding factor in graduate employment. Most of previous studies on the mentor group, with some repetition and lack of originality, focus on inductive introduction to foreign theories in career guidance and analysis of domestic employment guidance practices. Due to the theoretical angle and lack of research data and further analysis, they are of little practical value to improve the team construction of career mentors. This thesis makes a literature survey on the development of career guidance in foreign countries and Hong Kong, and, through inductive analysis, emphatically introduces valuable experiences and approaches in Germany, U.S.A., and Hong Kong. Then on the basis of an investigation of both full-time and part-time mentors in Anhui universities, it analyses the status quo of the staff from multiple angles as staffing, age, diploma, title, and profession training, and it points out following problems: insufficient concern, staffing shortage, imperfect team construction, and low overall quality of mentors, etc. Furthermore, based on the above analysis and learning from both foreign and domestic experience, the thesis argues that to improve the status quo of the mentor staff in Anhui universities and build an efficient and effective staff, it is necessary to deepen understanding, enhance leading, reinforce training, improve skills, create conditions, and keep a stable staff, to carry out the system of employment admittance and certification for career mentors, to establish a association of career mentors for graduates, and meanwhile, to set up the system guarantee in staffing, remuneration, training, and development of personnel.
