In this paper, the author will mainly discuss the following two aspects of composition: one is the principle on transformational-seneration from the perspective of epistemology and language in use; the other is the ideal state of composition practice and operational method under the guidance of language concept and epistemology of materialism. The paper advocates that the fact of life is the only fountain of composition. The whole essay will be divided into four parts. Part one is that different theories of cognition play an importantly guided role in the composition teaching in Middle School. Part two is about to examine the writing activity in terms of consciousness and language relations, pointing out that the western modern-contemporary language philosophy has an insight into writing. what's more, it also puts forword the idea that the language concept of materialism is a guide to writing. Part three states briefly the dynamically built-up relationship and transformational-senerative principle of Xiang-Yi-Yan. Meanwhile, this part points out the fact that the composition practice should return the life. Part four is about the desired condition and operational method on "active" composition drill on the basis of the language concept of materialism and the theory of composition practice. In this part, the author will make every attempt to explain the basis mode and the operational type of the "active" composition philosophy by means of enumerating the drill modes of "active" composition and commenting on samples of composition of this kind.
