The music education in primary and secondary schools in the minority area plays an important part in our education system. It is also a crucial field in the research of the music education in our country. In order to put the featured minority music education into practice, we have to look into its status quo and have to understand the difficulties and problems that might exist. Based on the study and analysis of the music education in the primary and secondary schools in Tuja and Miao County in Youyang, Chongqing, this essay provides solutions and suggestions to its current situation:1. Strengthen and improve the development of the music education.2. Fortify teacher quality to promote professional teaching skills.3. Suffice teaching material, equipment and facilities. Edit supplemental teaching material as soon as possible.4. Develop creative extracurricular music activities according to practicality.5. Take full advantage of supports from our society to enhance the ethnic music culture.
