The sense of teachers' occupational happiness is an important aspect of their teaching career. The reason of paying close attention to this subject is that it not only contributes to promoting teachers' professional development, enhances the quality of the education , but also improves the quality of teachers' life and stabilization of teachers' team . Secondary education is the principal part of basic education, so it is significant to research the sense of teachers' occupational happiness in junior and senior school. There are many domestic researches on the sense of teachers' occupational happiness in nursery school, primary school in this field, but that in high school are still absent. Each herd of teachers faces diverse educational object and meets various demands of society, so the current situation on the sense of teachers' occupational happiness and the factors that influence it may be different .Base on this basic hypothesis, I select 500 teachers in high school of Chengdu as my research object, and used the research methods, such as visiting and talking, asking and doing the questionnaire, which have formed a preliminary research on such problems as current situation of the sense of teachers' professional happiness in the high school and its influential factors. On the basis of this ,this thesis expounds some methods and measure to improve the sense of teachers' occupational happiness.This thesis consists of four parts. The first part indicates the reason why selecting this subject, analyzes the current study of this field and introduces the methods used in this research.The second part explores the significance of enhancing the sense of teachers' occupational happiness by means of interview. And investigates the current situation on the sense of teachers' occupational happiness in the high school of Chengdu and its influential factors. The investigate shows as the following. Firstly , the whole current situation on the sense of teachers' occupational happiness in the high school of Chengdu, generally, is not so optimistic: nearly half of the respondents are" experiencing the sense of unhappiness". Among these, the teachers in key high school feel happier than those in other high school. There does not exist sharp discrepancy between junior school teachers and senior school teachers, head-teachers and the ones not in charge of class, concerning sense of teachers' occupational happiness. Male teachers acquire more sense of occupational happiness than female teachers. The sense of happiness increases along with the position promotion. Furthermore, the subjects which the teachers teach have influence on the degree of happiness and the teachers who give Chinese, maths and foreign language courses can obtain more happiness. Secondly, the major factors to influence the acquisition of teachers' sense of happiness are listed below (1) steady payments and stability of the job (2) evaluation system for teachers' job (3) fairness of promotion (4) the sense of achievement (5) fondness for teaching occupation (6) school management (7) appropriate workload (8) personal relationship.On the basis ,the third part give some suggestions to improve the sense of happiness on teachers' profession, i.e. teachers' self-adjusting, managing, and social support.The forth part is the conclusion of this research. It presents the major finding of this study and the limitation of this thesis is also discussed.
