Work values are inner measures of people to assess or weigh job quality or significance to themselves, as well as the expression of people's general individual values during their looking for a job. Public-running school students' work value is becoming a more important research area due to employment challenge. Based on an open-ended questionnaire, overviews of former studies and some deep interview, a large number of factors considered by Public-nmning school Students when they think about the future careers were gained to form a primary questionnaire. 580 students from 3 Public-running schools were surveyed with that. Based on the results from separate exploratory and confirmatory factor analysis, a 4-factor SEM for intentional work value and a 5-factor SEM for instrumental work value were built and validated as good models with high goodness of fit. The hypothesis on relationships between intentional and instrumental work values are well proved as well.Thus the Public-running school students' Work Value Questionnaire was used to survey the status and characters of Public-running school students' work values in Chongqing. The main results were as follows:(1) 4-factor SEM for intentional work value were self development, status and economic profit, social construction, achievement feeling. 5-factor SEM for instrumental work value were salary income and prestige, suit of character and favorite, future development of the career, social rules and moral, relaxing, stability and suitability, (2) The importance of the intentional work value from up to down were self exercising, status economic profit, achievement feeling and social construction. During people's fighting for these goals, they would also consider some subjective and objective issues, whose importance from up to down were future development of the career, suit of character and favorite, social rules and moral, salary income and prestige, relaxing,stability and suitability.(3) Gender, grade, whether there was a stable lover, living environment before entering school, family income as also as objective feelings of family income, all of these effects were statistically significant in some dimensions.
