Lecturing method is a basic teaching method that teacher uses language transfer information to students. It has very important position in classroom. However, some critics always follow it. Today, in basic education curriculum reform, lecturing method meet with the problems, again. The papers will take the problems as starting point to research systematically lecturing method, so that people will know and use correctly the method in the new background.Firstly, clearing lecturing method's concept and features is a key. Secondly, we must state it's theoretical basis. Because lecturing method can be used widely in classroom, it has solid theoretical basis. Psychology, Linguistics and Sociology of knowledge provide theoretical support to lecturing method. Thirdly, we will study lecturing method from history. Finding lecturing method has different features in different history conditions. The fourth, entrying classroom to observe and research now lecturing method, from teachers and students ,we find today lecturing method meet with some problems indeed. Between teachers' new idea and lecturing method has some contradiction. Teachers try to put new idea into classroom, However, it is restricted examination system. Although new curriculum request students to study with many ways, examination system only depend on scores to evaluate students. so, teachers often feel dilemma. In any case, we recognize lecturing method is a indispensable method in classroom. Lastly, we propose some proper strategies to development of lecturing method.
