The education in ancient China, which is rich in practice as well as theory, works as well as experience, plays an important part in the history of the world's education in ancient times. The appearance of "Shuyuan", the academy of classical learning, is really a rare treasure in the history of education in ancient China. It's an important form of preserving, transmitting and developing the culture of ancient China. What's more, its excellent atmosphere and discipline, which welcomes free discussion and argument between different schools of thought as well as different views, is well worth carrying on and promoting. However, at present, there is a distinct lack of sound relationship between teachers' teaching and students' learning. It only lays stress on collective teaching, but seldom pays attention to respective teaching, showing students how to study independently, or cultivating students' self-study ability. In view of this situation, this thesis, based on lots of practice and research work, is therefore a detailed analysis and study of the features in the academy of classical learning, that is, the harmonious relationship between teachers and students, respective teaching, temporary collective lecturing, established collective teaching, study and research, etc.Through lots of analyses, this thesis draws the following conclusions. First, the harmonious relationship between teachers and students mainly includes two parts, namely teaching which exerts sound influence on learning and vice versa, and students respecting teachers and teachers loving students. It is this characteristic that ensures the development of teaching and learning activities as well as the improvement of teaching quality. Second, the respective teaching adopted in the academy is in line with the requirement of quality-oriented education in modern times. What's more, it can help make students' ability into full play. Third, temporary collective lecturing and established collective lecturing can not only enhance the academic atmosphere at school and activate students' minds, but also cultivate their ability to innovate, query, debate, discriminate and so on. And last, study and research can bring teachers' guidance into full play, arouse students' enthusiasm and train their self-study ability. All of them mentioned above have an enlightening effect on the classroom-teaching reform.
