A Study On Teachers' Health Of Advanced Vocational Colleges In Jiujiang City And Strategies Of College Administration

Higher Vocational Education is an important part of National Education. In recent 20 years, it has injected many qualified professionals into the whole country. The development of Higher Vocational Education urgently needs the innovation of teacher contingents. The development and quality of Higher Vocational Education has a crucial bearing on investigating the difficulties from teachers, understanding and improving their health. In this article, the author makes some investigations on physical examination and mental health for the teachers of Higher Vocational College in Jiujiang city through the methods of physical examination, questionnaire survey and statistical analysis and draws the following conclusions:1. Physical examination shows that only 59.2% of the teachers surveyed are getting tested. The sick rate of various ages is also growing at a proportion of about 15%. As teachers age, the growth of their health takes on a downward trend.2. Through the measuring tool of Symptom Checklist (SCL-90), Statistics survey on teachers'mental health finds that their overall level of mental health is significantly lower than that of domestic other college teachers, and markedly different from the teachers'of undergraduate colleges in this region. From gender, the number of female teachers with mild and moderate psychological disorders is more than that of male teachers; From the academic, with the improvement of academic achievements teachers'mental health has been improved; from the title, the psychological conditions of teachers with high title are better than that of teachers with low title.3. Through the questionnaire survey, we find that teachers of higher vocational colleges are short of scientific consciousness of self-care for health cognition, work pressure, personal habits and lifestyles, and poor in social adjustment, which results in varying degrees of damage to their physical and mental health.The research on the physical and psychological state of the teachers from the advanced vocational colleges in Jiujiang shows that the health condition of the teachers makes us worry . From the analysis, we can see that all of these are mainly due to the backward vocational education conception, irregular college administration mechanism, imperfect evaluation system as well as the work environment and pressure. It is suggested putting the teachers'health condition into the college management system is on the agenda. I propose that, on the way of ruling our college, we should follow out the strategy of running on the college regulation, on the human morality, and on the rule of people-oriented approach, so as to promote the health condition of the teacher in advanced vocational college, to ensure the smooth development of our college, and to guarantee the prosperous development of the advanced vocational education.
