Following with the knowledge-based economy and the individualized and democratized educational ideological trend in the whole world, the traditional unified student assessment exposes its drawbacks more and more, which becomes the barrier that the student develops. The new reform of basic education course of our country advocates the core idea of " all is for every student's development ", and proposes the reform goal—" to promote the development of student's personality " clearly, leading student to compare with his or her past, dying away the selecting and distinguishing function of the assessment, exerting the function to promote the development of student individualization. Differentiated student assessment is put forward under this background. By systematically combing the relevant research at home and abroad and the beneficial explorations in recent years, we explains the basic theories of differentiated student assessment, including the concept of student assessment and differentiated student assessment, the theoretical foundation of differentiated student assessment in philosophy, psychology and pedagogy, the basic principles should be followed while implementing differentiated student assessment in the operating process.This research adopts the method of questionnaire investigation. Through the investigation of implementing differentiated student assessment in three junior middle schools of Ji Nan, it reveals certain questions existing in the student assessment at present, for instance, the assessment method of students is single; seldom adopting profile assessment; the content of judgment still can't be individualized; facing students' differences, still continuing to use traditional standardization examination, seldom adopting hierarchical examination; the assignment is" thousand people with one side " basically, which can't meet different students' need either; because of the large number of the students and heavy teaching burdens, the teacher is unable to implement differentiated student assessment. All these are the obstacles that exist while implementing differentiated student assessment concretely.In addition, this research clarifies several relations that should be handled well during the course of implementing differentiated student assessment, in order to correct some faults in understanding and measures about differentiated student assessment. This research also constructs the standard of differentiated student assessment tentatively, but it still needs to explore a scientific,normal and effective assessment systems in practice constantly.Finally, this research advances some tactical opinions and suggestions about how to carry out differentiated student assessment, in order to fully excavate students' inferior energy and promote students to get different development.
