In modern times, China was in turmoil, facing a crisis of destruction. The masses lead miserable lives, especially the peasants, as the majority of the nation's population, struggled with abject poverty and death. In 1920s and 1930s, facing of the sharp decline of agricultural production, slump of rural economy, and the continued deterioration of the peasants'life, lots of educators, such as Huang Yanpei, Yan Yangchu, Liang Shuming, went to the rural areas from the city,with sincere patriotism and the desire of reforming the country to rich and powerful. Guided by individual theories, they carried out rural education experiment actively to reform the rural education and communities. The experiment was developed vigorously in many provinces, such as Jiangsu, Hebei, Shandong, and engendered far-reaching influence on the local experimental zone, other regions, and international areas. Modern China's rural education experiment was a wonderful work in the history of education.With reformation and opening growing, China has made tremendous achievements in economic, political, cultural and other aspects. However, the speed of rural economy and the level of peasant's living still need to be improved, and "3 rural issues" still have to be resolved. Rural education, which plays special role, remains weak and need improvement. History came down in a continuous line, so it has to review, analyze and summarize China's rural education experiment in modern times to do present country education better.By many ways, such as historical research and comparative study, this paper divides five parts to analyze, study, dissertate the start, implementation, characteristics, influence and significance of China's rural experiment in modern times.Part one, guided by Marxism, analyzed the reasons for the rise of modern China's rural education experiment, from social background, ideological roots, staff and organization.Part two, based on the historical facts, expounded the implementation of the rural education experiment in Xugongqiao, Dingxian, Zouping, which were typical areas.Part three, based upon previous analysis, analyzed the characteristics of China's rural education Experiment in modern times from three main aspects.Part four, analyzed the influence of China's rural education Experiment in modern times systematically, including the influence on the experimental zone, other domestic areas and international areas.Part five, connecting history with the reality of contemporary, expounded the academic and practical significance of China's rural education experiments in modern times.
